Learning more about historic preservation

This fall, I was selected as a  Scholar attendee at the Past Forward Conference hosted by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in DC. We networked, shared ideas and opportunities. I also reconnected with Brent Leggs of the NTHP. I met Brent in 2013 when I attended a 2-day board governance workshop for Rosenwald School preservationists, hosted by the NTHP. Back then as now, Brent was one of the lead presenters. I later wrote about the 2013 workshop for the National Trust's newsletter. I was pleased to tell him that, since the workshop, Chowan Discovery replaced two of the four columns of Brown Auditorium and produced a video about the Auditorium, home of the C.S. Brown Cultural Arts Center in Winton, NC.
