Organizational Structure

The Chowan Discovery Group is governed by a three member Board of Directors. The volunteer research team relies on a network of individuals who serve as an advisory group to provide guidance and input regarding projects and organizational goals. The CDG also works in partnership with other groups and individuals.

The Chowan Discovery Group is tax-exempt, non-profit organization incorporated in the state of North Carolina.

Documents: From an 1912 edition of the Waters Institute Journal, Dr. C. S. Brown's school paper. Of special interest is the paragraph about Robert L. Vann, owner and publisher of the then fledgling and later renown Pittsburgh Courier, a nationally distributed newspaper.
