Marvin T. Jones is the Executive Director of the Chowan Discovery Group. A commercial photographer in Washington, D.C., Jones is the owner of Marvin T. Jones and Associates, specializing in corporate communications photography and photographic design. His love of the community of his birth led him to create www.roanoke-chowan.com, a personal website of stories and photo essays. Jones is a native of Cofield, North Carolina; he attended the Winton Triangle's C. S. Brown School and graduated from Ahoskie High School.

E. Laverne Jones, a native of Cofield and a graduate of C. S. Brown High School, is a attorney in New York City. She was Vice-President and Corporate Secretary of TIAA-CREF, one of the world's largest pension companies.

Dr. Harold Mitchell, a native and resident of Ahoskie, North Carolina, was the president of Roanoke-Chowan Community College in Ahoskie. Dr. Mitchell also served as interim president of Halifax Community College in Weldon, North Carolina. Dr. Mitchell is a graduate and former teacher of the Winton Triangle's Robert L.
